I think this is a great decision by Ford. The NA 3.7 is quite an improvement over the 4.0, but by not going turbo, still keeps the price down for an entry level Stang v6. The jump in HP for the base Stang also means that the 5.0 Coyote is even more likely to go into the GT. Good times...

So the thinking of some here is that Ford shouldn't put a better, higher HP V6 or V8 motor into the Mustang if it has higher compression because........you want to be able to turbo or supercharge it running more than 8 psi right off the bat? Yea......that makes sense.
I'm glad to hear that Ford will be dumping something a bit better than a 20 year old Ranger motor into the base Mustang. That car is critical to Mustang sales, and should be all that it can be. I'm just curious what the final numbers will be. Anything in the 275-300hp range would be sweet.

I wouldn't be surprised if Ford came out with the Ecoboost twin turbo version of the V6 Mustang and called it the SVO. They seem to have mastered the art of bringing back old stuff that keeps the Mustang enthusiasts flocking.
