Just ordered my first Stang
I'm ecstatic right now, I just got back from ordering a V6 Premium in Vista Blue with Dark Charcoal cloth interior, the Pony Package and the Interior Upgrade Package. Oh, and it's a stick, because I love driving manual transmission - even if it was bumper-to-bumper traffic, I'd never want an auto, personally. Just a warning, I may ramble a bit 'cause I want to share my excitement with other Mustang owners and fans who will understand my sentiment, so I'm sorry if I seem long winded. I'm 24 years old, and I fell in love with the new Mustang about thirty seconds into my test-drive...which was...two days ago. That was really all it took. I had already known that the Mustang was a lot more car than anything else I was looking into (mainly Honda and Mitsubishi) but I was totally unprepared for the car to be, inside and out, the very thing that I have always been looking for.
You see, I've always had a huge weakness for two kinds of cars: Porsches, and American classic cars - especially Fords and Chevys from around the 60s (but including the 50s and 70s). I'm probably the only guy who wound up disappointed at Vettefest this year, because they didn't have any bubbletops on display! Anyways, I digress. That era saw such great car designs, even though I wasn't around to appreciate them at the time, I've just always loved them and wondered why car manufacturers these days don't make cars that at least look like those, seeming instead to prefer their cars to look like beans. Well, I saw that the new Mustang had a lot in common with the old Mustangs I had admired so much from the outside, but even on the inside...it felt, sounded, and looked, like a true meeting of the old-school style that I loved so much and the new tech and convenience that a modern update should have. The other cars I was looking at never stood a chance.
As I was gearing up for my purchase, I came upon this forum, and I saw a great group of guys who seemed like they all were having fun and coming together to form a really positive community, so I joined tonight, even though I still have to wait 6-8 weeks for my Mustang. I'm so stoked about it! So, hi everybody, and I hope I didn't bore you!

RE: Just ordered my first Stang
Thanks for the welcome, guys.
Sorry I put up such a long post, I'm just really psyched about my first Mustang. The order went in today, so I should have it by the end of next month!

Thanks...can't wait to actually get the car in! But, 'till then I'll enjoy reading about other people's cars.
Projected date of arrival is May 25th...I'm counting down the days.
