welcome and check out the tech forums for some good info and smart people who can answer your technical questions. if you're going .030 over, you might as well add some stroke and make it a 331 or 347 to really get some cubes and make HP. Keep the compression in the 9.5:1 range so you can still use pump gas and get some harden seats for the valves if you re-use the heads as the unleaded gas will wear out the valve seats fairly quickly. with a good cam, roller lifters, and rockers, you ougth to be making plenty of HP with a good intake and carb. throw on some good headers and large exhaust and you'll be in business.

Oh Man!!!!! I love those old cougars I found oine in a junk yard here, Ive been trying to pull someones leg though cause they dont sell whole cars just parts and everything down to the original motor and seats are still in that beaut!!!!
