Default New here, no mustang yet, but without a doubt it will be my next car!

Hey guys, hows it going?

I'm starting to save up for a Mustang, cause I love powerful American cars. (although, I am currently driving a Tempo... lol) Anyway, I realized how badly I want one, and even though I know I should be saving up for books, a laptop, etc, for college, I'll probably take out a loan so I can buy a Mustang.

I want to stay in the vicinity of $5,000-$6,000 bucks for the car (without having to fix it up or anything), and would prefer to get a 95 or newer.

Now, what im having trouble deciding on is between the V6 or the V8. I'm gonna drive it everyday, (even in the winter), so id want good gas mileage, but i really dont want to sacrifice power. From what I hear, the V6 puts out about 150 hp, and gets around 18-20 mpg, while the V8 gives 215, but only gets around 16 mpg. Im kinda leaning toward the V6.

My ideal Mustang would probably be a 95 or newer, silver ext./black int., coupe, V6, with less than 60,000 miles, I would prefer a maunal (for the power), but im gonna have to learn manual first, although i really wouldnt mind an auto, all for around $5000 or less. Is this doable? Or am I dreaming? lol

Also, for the range of 94-04, what were the options for the mustang (GT, LX, etc.)?

Thanks in advance, and I hope to learn a lot about Mustangs here!

60,000 seems kind of low miles for a 12 year old car one of my cars is a 91 town car 4.6 180000 miles interior still very clean and run like a scared over wieght rabbit. worry more about condtion and maintance than miles . v6 vs v8 depends if the v6 was a kids car and he sold it to buy a ricer stay away if grandma finally gave up driving and her v8 ia priced right go for it .the right price for the right car will pay for a lot of gas if you are not putting $$$$ in repairs

Yeah, good point about the mileage vs. the condition.

but its still possible to find a well-maintained mustang that meets my criteria, for that price, right?
