Hi! I am a new member and in process of buying a 2004 V6 convertible with 11000 miles for my son. I would appreciate any info on any known problems with this year and model. Also, Do I need to buy extended warranty on it? Ford warranty is too pricy 6Yr/100k at $1800 with $100 deductible. Any suggestion where to buy the warranty cheap? Thanks in advance for your input.

Welcome to the forums. Have fun. I don't have any problems with my convertable then again its a 2002 and a GT. You should be fine though.

I have a 2004 v8 vert and I've had no problems with it. Besides the squeeks and rattles, but thats only bad in the winter time really. And someone told me how to solve it, just don't have time to do it. Nothing to be concerned with, i'm just **** about that kindof stuff.

I didn't get the extended warranty for it, I'm gonna void it within a year anyways!! lol actually prob not, but eh maybe i'll stumble onto some cash.

I'm fairly new here too. I just bought an 04 V6 convertible about 3 weeks ago and so far I love it. I went with the extended warranty because overall it was cheaper. They offered to make mine a certified used if I went with the warranty and that actually lowered my interest rate and payment by about 70 bucks!

I haven't heard anything negative about the 04's, everything I've heard is positive. I'd say go for it.......as long as it's not orange and black because that my car!

Welcome. No probs that I know of. The tops wear out on verts, but nothing major.
