new member with a 1972 Mustang Convertible and a 2005 Mustang GT
Hello All,
I am a new member that has been reading the posts for many years.
I have a 2005 Mustang GT built in 09/04. It is a Deluxe package with an Automatic. I have installed a HO Procharger with Intercooler and a Spydershaft aluminum one piece driveshaft, a CDC Shaker hood scoop and V6 Pony package grille and emblems. I had JPC install 4.11 gears, Detroit Tru-Trac, new stall converter, 60lb injectors, dual fuel pumps, long tube headers, Bassini exhaust and a tune by Predator. It dynos at 471 rear wheel horse power and does the 1/4 mile in 11.9 seconds at 116 miles per hour.
I also have a 1972 Mustang Convertible that came stock with a 351 Cleveland, a 2 barrel carb and a 3 speed manual transmission. it is 1 of 82 that were made in 1972 with this engine and transmission combination.
I bought this car while I was in London, England from a Corvette dealer who had taken it in trade.
It originally came from Townson Ford in Maryland and I have now return it back to Maryland.
After doing a 360 on the highway when one of the rear drum brakes locked up during a panic stop, I decided that if i wanted to drive it everyday I should modernize (Restomod) it.
It now has Baer 13 inch disc brakes front and rear, a Tremec 5 speed manual transmission, a built 351 Cleveland with a Holley 750 (~350 Horsepower) 3.50 gears and a Detroit Tru-Trac. I have drag raced it in England at York Dragstrip and it did a 15.5 @ 91 Miles per Hour.
I have driven it to France and all over England and now that it is in Maryland, I plan on doing Route 66. I have retired it from racing and now only race my 2005 Mustang GT.
I spent over 10 years in the United States Air Force and now I work as a contractor for the US Government.
I do all my own work on the 1972 Mustang and farm out some work to JPC on my 2005 Mustang.
You can find me most Fridays racing at Maryland International Raceway racing in the Pro Street class during Midnight Madness and on Saturdays racing in the MOD ET class.
