Hey everyone. I'm new to this forum and new as a Mustang owner as well. I go to Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University in Prescott, AZ. Just started here a couple weeks ago as well. I just bought my 2002 3.8L Mustang a couple weeks ago. I would've gotten a V8 but I couldn't find one and the insurace would've been rediculus for a college car. I have no complaints and I think I already got the mod bug. Any help for a beginner modder is always appreciated.

Thanks mdvaldosta. Actually I do have one question. I am considering putting a cold air intake onto my car. I was wondering what types are good, how much they cost, and how easy they are to install. Remember, I'm a beginning modder. I was simply looking for something to give the engine a more aggressive sound. Any suggestions?

A cat-back exhaust is the easiest and best way to give your stang a more aggressive sound. You won't notice much, if anything, from a cold air induction kit on a v6, as far as sound is concerned. Expect a cat-back to cost about 300 + install (which you could do in your driveway).

You sure? I've heard M3's and GTI's with and without CAIs and they gave em better sound. Are Ford V6 engines just different?

You talking about a sucking sound from under the hood or the exhaust sounding a tad bit louder? You wanted a more aggressive sound, well a cat back will give you 10 X the amount of aggressive sound a cai will, and alot more performance too.

I'm not quite sure how to describe it. The engines just sounded a lot louder than before. My buddy pulled out onto a street and went WOT with his GTI. Later I asked him what kind of exhaust he got that made his car that loud. He told me hie exhaust was actually quieter than stock. It was the CAI that made it sound lilke he had put a loud exhaust on his car. I'm not sure I want to put an exhaust on just yet. I think it would be too expensive for a college student, not to mention my parents might not allow me to buy it. I was just wondering how you guys think I should start out.
