Hey there everyone
Just bought a 1981 Mustang hatchback. Loving the car, but it's certainly going to need some more love, body work and a little play with the engine mostly. Has a 351 Windsor under the hood (came with subframe connectors, just need to put them on). Loving driving the older car, a lot more personable.
I'm by no means a gearhead, but I'm learning. Here's what I know about it:
Holley 750cfm dual feed carb, Edelbrock RPM intake, Pro Comp CNC'd alluminum heads, PRW roller rockers, Comp Cams 280H cam with hydraulic lifters, Elgin hardened pushrods, Comp Cams pushrod guides, BBK shorty 351W swap headers. AOD transmission with a B&M shift kit. 7.5 trak-lok rear end with 3.08 gears.
It seems to run a little rich, and idles high (around 2000RPM). I've got quite a bit of black residue coming out of the exhaust. It has a manual choke.
Any suggestions, input, or anything of that would be very appreciated,
Jeremy
