Default Mustang GT 1997

So my father was like an expert mechanic over the years and my mustang gets very bad gas he believes its just cause its a mustang. That and he doesn't trust the OBD trip off. It says my oxygen sensor is dead. My check engine light trips off now and then. So could it just be that? My car had a previous owner and has 156k miles. He just doesn't think it's the sensor he had never checked but assumes from past experience

Welcome anyway, good luck on the fix.

And a bad O2 sensor has a lot to do with your bad mileage.

Welcome to the forum.

So like this is the wrong forum and stuff. Perhaps you should have a qualified mechanic go over your engine. My grandfather was like an expert mechanic back in the day, but he wouldn't be much use diagnosing issues on modern Mustang.
