Hello, I am knew to the forum but have ready several post on things that have been experiencing with my 66. Thanks for all the great info. I am now thinking about converting my c4 over to a T5 tranny and am looking for a T5 and bell housing from a 86-89 5.0 and also for tips and tricks to complete this conversion. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

T-5 is an excellent choice over any others, like Top Loader, unless you over-power it. Easiest done on car with manual already. You are aware that there are many parts you do not have in your car that MUST be added, right? Clutch pedal assembly, clutch release linkage or mechanism of some kind, flywheel, clutch pressure plate and disc, crankshaft pilot bearing for transmission input shaft, throw-out bearing and release fork to suit release linkage used, which could be a stock 1966 mechanical linkage, which would require modification of the T-5 Bellhousing as mechanical linkage was never used, thus consider the Fox type cable release mechanism which requires under dashboard quadrant as part of the pedal assembly........

Transmission overall length consideration, which might affect driveshaft length. Rear transmission mount may require fabrication. The good thing is you already have a hole in the floor for shift linkage, but it will need to be enlarged rearward; the shift lever may need fabricating, as it may interfere with car interior.

That's for starters. Still interested?
