Trying to figure out what class to run
Hi Guys,
You would figure with a username like mine I would have a better idea, but I am trying to figure out what class my 94 gt should run in. All it has right now is a cold air intake, I don't have the stocker.
I need a new clutch so I put a ford racing one in, + aluminum Fidanza flywheel, so that is another mod, but hidden I guess.
I am going to get the car ready for 2011 autocross season, but need to figure out what the best direction to go with this car is.
I am looking at working on the suspension, converting to irs, subframe connectors, and anything else to help the handling. But if this puts me into a class that it isn't competitive I can change my plan. I also have some 3.55 gears sitting at home.
So I was wondering from you seasoned vets what direction should I take my 5.0?
Thanks in advance I really appreciate it.

I was looking through the classes. I have not pu tin the flywheel yet, so it is possible for me to leave that out if it puts me in a high class.
Basically I want to mod the car some, not really looking for more speed, just handling and brakes, but I do not want it to throw me into a money pit of a class where competition is too high.

What is your experience in AutoX? If it is not much the best thing you can do is leave it stock and get seat time. If you start modifying you will end up in SM where you will not be competitive until you learn

I use my stock GTI now and was looking to move up to the Mustang. I found out that my mustang is best suited for ESP and have started that build already. I am not looking to get to SM at all, but ESP offers me enough modding for the mustang that I would like.
