Here is my quick story/experience with Powerdyne and why I think Powerdynes SUCK...

I blew my belt and bearings running 9psi....unit was rebuilt prior to my purchasing the car....no problem...took off the blower and sent it to be rebuilt...back to Powerdyne last October....

After not hearing from Powerdyne for 2 months after numerous emails and calls...I finally spoke with someone who told me they had no bearings and the unit could not be fixed for at least another 2 months until they get the parts....the end of the story is the blower could not be repaired...the bearings had ruined the blower housing and it was junk...

Also there was a kid on this forum sskiller who had his powerdyne blow up...the impeller exploded and went into his motor..of course blowing it..

I did alot of research on the internet and learned that Powerdynes usually have to be rebuilt between 1k and 5k miles depending on how hard you drive them...to me that is unacceptable...

You will hear stories from people that have had success with them but they are far fewer than the horror stories....

As I said last winter...I figured out how to make my Powerdyne reliable....I bought a Vortech!!!!

I HAD A POWERDYNE KIT ON MY CAR I HAD. 69 DO0E HEADS STAGE 3 PORTED COBRA INTAKE STOCK SHOTBLOCK AND ALL THE TOP END BUILT AND I HAD NO PROBLEMS WITH MY BD11a I MADE 420 RWHP ON 8 LBS OF BOOST AT P.S.I. IN SAN ANTONIO, I WOULD HAND ZO6 AND 07' GTO ASSES AND DIDNT EVEN KNOW WHAT HIT THEM YEA YEA YEA THE BELT DOES BRAKE BUT I HAD MINE FOR A YEAR AND A HALF, DRIVING IT EVERY SINGLE DAY. ALL YOU DO MOST OF THE TIME IS TAKE THE COVER OFF AND SLIP THE NEW BELT IN. WHEN I HAD MY BD11A IT WAS FUN AND HAD NO COMPLAINTS. ITS A CHEAP WAY FOR BOOST. I WOULD GET IT IF I WHERE YOU!!!

A friend of mine had one on a fox.. the belt broke on it twice. The car ran good, and the blower never came apart, but the belt did break..

I do like how simple they are.. if a guy could find a belt that would hold up I think they would be fine..

my dad has one on his car, running the 6 psi kit on it, but we have the 9 for later. when the car was dynoed it had 1.7 rockers, shorty headers, stock exhaust and stock everything else. put out 290hp and 344lb/ft torque. When we got the car we had to rebuild it cuz it spit the belt, but the rebuild kit we got had a wider kevlar belt and better bearings. So far the cars got 20k+ on the rebuild and is happy as a clam. I'd buy another if it was cheap, but I there are better products out there,

Got the rebuild kit from superchargerrebuild.com i believe
