Default what BOV?

mmm im sure some of you have seen this video of the "900hp saleen".

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BWx-XeaNMaY

and was wondering, what BOV is that? or is that compressor surge? sounds pretty sick to me, never heard anything like it. i asked the company that makes the kit, (turbochargedpower.com) and they said it was just a tial, but i've heard tials before and they dont sound like that?

i like the sound. sounds different. if i wanted the traditional "pshhhhh" noise with an oversized overboosted BOV i would have bought a STI lol

does tial make smaller bov's?

of corse, if i get a WOT BOX it probably wont matter anyways. would rarely hear it then...

really? hmmmm... i thought purpose of a waste gate was to limit boost while boosting (eg, keep the boost at say 7 psi, but turbo keeps spinning?) basically like an exhaust bypass? how would that make that noise?

its not the wg, if its dumping to atmosphere youd hear it while under boost, not after he lets off

sounds better than one of those fluttering POS' that alot of ricer guys put on... i dont care if other people like it or not, i like it, wish i could find out what it really is. doesnt sound like a turbo to me though, sounds like a centri like a procharger. might just be the crappy camera.

Wastegates dumping to atmos sound a lot more annoying than that. & lucky13 is right on the characteristics.

It's twin turbo & the valve IS a tial. The guy that owned that is a member of another mustang forum, he sold that car quite some time ago. As for the sound, the valve sounds too small or like it doesn't have the correct spring in it. Either way, that sound isn't a sound you want to hear on a turbo car. Not in terms of reliability anyway.
