Burned out cats...
I installed a procharger on my otherwise stock 07 Mustang GT. After about 4 months it threw a trouble code. I don't have the number off hand, but it was a "catalyst" something or other. I'm assuming that my cats are burned out. Do I need to buy high flow cats to fix this problem. Also, I was thinking about getting a roush exhaust ( http://store.roushperformance.com/detail.aspx?ID=1133 ). In the pic it doesn't look like it has an H or X pipe. Is this something I need to make it sound good? Any help would be appreciated.
that roush is just going to be an axleback. has nothing to do with H or X pipe. the thing with the cats on it IS your h pipe. HOWEVER, it can be more than your cats if its throwing a code for that. it could very well just be a rear 02 sensor went bad.
you can buy that axleback, but you will still need a new H/X pipe if your cats are burned out, or you can gut them, or you can have an exhaust shop weld some new cats in. your pick. new H/X would be best since the piping on aftermarkets is 2.5" and stockers are 2.25 (atleast on our cars, im not 100% positive on the s197's) but reguardless a new aftermarket with high flow cats is always better than stock.
