I'm looking to upgrade our exhaust for my husband's birthday next week. We'd like a more throaty rumble I guess....how else do you describe a sound? LOL

I called a shop yesterday and they recommended Flowmaster 40s. The price was right.

Opinions please!

 

What are you putting them on?

If its a 5.0 then yes, the Flows are a definate. Just make sure you get an O/R H-pipe with it.
If its a 4.6 then hell no, run somthing like Magnapacks or SLP Loud Mouth II's with an O/R X-pipe.

 

whats wrong with flowmasters on a mod motor? they sound damn good to me

 

dont get slowmasters for a 4.6, 5.0 is ok though

 

flowmasters on a 4.6 make the car sound like a 5.0 i think they sound good. magnapacks and a O/R pipe are redicluous and they sound like ****. you want something throaty flows are the only way to go or edelbrock mufflers

 

Well speaking from experience, I had the Flows on a 96 GT with an O/R X. It sounded nice until you romped on it, then it got really tinny sounding. Ive heard the Packs on a 4.6 and they sound insane. Much deeper than Flows are on a 4.6. The 5.0 is another story however. 4.6's with their OHC design just sound better with a straight through muffler.
