Chris, Right now I am running about 2,000 RPM at 80 MPH. How much will that change if i decide to go with the 4.10s?

You should be right around 2500RPM. I don't remember specifically what it is, but 3.73s are about 2300RPM, so it won't be too much more than that.

I am really leaning to the 410's, but after the exhaust and intake/tune I might not have enough money to get the gears. Is there any hook-ups you know to a used cold-air intake/axle back exhausts? I will be willing to buy used...
Thanks again,
Kai

As Lem said, the for sale sections of the forums here is a great place to start. Beyond that, you can check eBay, craigslist and other Mustang forums for used products. People swap intakes/axle-backs pretty frequently, so it shouldn't be hard to find a nice used set.

Good luck!

this is one of the most debated topics in the mustang world. with confusion added by people who have no clue what they are talking about

listen to him ^^^^^^

go 4.10 or LEAVE IT STOCK !!!!!

i cant tell you how many cars ive seen at the track that poeple cant understand why they still run 14's when similar cars setup the same way on 4.10's are in the 12's

it's the crappy choice of gears they chose...3.55 and 3.73 have NO use other than twin turbo cars

every set of gears you step up to will change your RPM at any given speed by about 250

a swap from 2.73 to 4.10 is about 1000 RPM on the nose (on a .68:1 ratio like a fox t5...dont know what yours is)

and FYI i have gotten 21 mpg on 4.10's
