Default New Wheels for the Stang

I got a question for everyone out here, I jus got 18" black and chrome deep dish bullitt wheels from americanmuscle.com for my 2006 V6. 18x9's for the front, 18x10's for the rear, now i kno that my stock rims are 16x7's. Im wondering if anyone could tell me if ill need to adjust anything to put these on. Going from 7' to 9' and 10' seems like alot on the width, especially with the shocks in the rear being where they are, i also dont want t have any rubbing problems. Can anyone help me, the one place i went jus gave me the runaround, and im tired of gettin half assed answers from dealerships.

Default RE: New Wheels for the Stang

I am definitely not an expert on this, however I do know that if your new rims have the proper offset, then you won't have rubbing issues. I've seen posts on here with guys running 275 width tires on the rears and 245 up front, and apparently it's not an issue. If americanmuscle.com said that these rims were for the 05-07 Mustang, you should be ok.. because rims do come in different offsets for various cars.
Maybe try the search feature for "max tire width" or 18" rim/tire choices-because Ihave seen this discussed on the forums. I know your frustation.. alot of tire/rim places just take a "we'll try and see" approach, where basically they don't want to commit to a definite answer. Understandable, from their perspective, but definitey frustrating for you.

I just did a search on the forums. Check out this post: https://mustangforums.com/m_1433841/tm.htm

Max tire width is beingdiscussed, and some guys posted that they are running 275's in the rear and 245 up frontwithout issues on17"-20" rims.
There's pics in that thread too, so hopefully that helps. Good luck!
