Default Wheel spacers

Anyone heard of a 10mm spacer with the correct 5X114.3 pattern?

What thickness is still safe to use the factory lug nuts to tighten the wheels? 5mm, 10mm, 15mm, 20mm?

I have seen the Eibach spacer kits that are $139 that have the 25mm hubcentric spacer that you bolt up with the longer lug bolts but is that the only way?

Default RE: Wheel spacers

Okay, so Gorilla automotive makes a 5x114.3 8mm wheel spacer disc for $8 per disc

Mr. Gasket makes a 8mm disc #2372 and a 11mm disc spacer for $6.50 per disc.

So can I still use the stock lug nuts and still be safe for hard driving. How much of the thread depth needs to be engaged to be secure enough for lets say road racing.

An 11mm spacer and some fatter rubber like 255/50/17 would put the tire about 21mm out and be closer to flush with the wheel well.

Is it safe?

You might check out Maximum Motorsports. I had to get some spacers for the front because my wheels were slightly rubbing the caliper.

Default RE: Wheel spacers

MM sells a specific spacer in the 1/2 inch size for the 05+. They state that typically you could run a 1/8 or 1/4 spacer and still retain the use of the stock lug bolts and still engauge enough threads to be considered safe. Problem is for 05+ they changed the front hub and run shorter lug bolts so you can only run a 1/8 spacer with the stock bolts. Anything bigger and you will need to get longer lug bolts. Problem with that is the ARP or Moroso bolts run a little bigger and the holes in the hub need to be bored a little bit before seating the new longer bolts. You will also have to run different lug nuts that are open on the other end which doesn't look as good if you are using wheels that have the nuts exposed. So long story short, if you only need less than 4mm, go with the 1/8 spacer, otherwise most spacer kits start at $75 bucks a pair and if you need the bolt in kind, they start at $130 pair.

With that said, what strain is put on the wheel bearing when you essentially change the offset by running a spacer? How much is too much? Does this affect tire wear? Etc?

Thanks for your help guys.
