tires and traction
I currently have 255/45/18's BFG KDW2's on my car and can't hook up until 3rd in warm weather. My buddy and I are going in on a pair of E/T streets for the strip, and I'm debating on whether to purchase 2 BFG's 285/40/18's for the back or get a set of Nitto 555R's all the way around. The Nittos would be 255/45/18's on the front and 285/40's on the back. My question is, does anyone who is S/C have any experience with these 2 brands of tires? I realize with a S/C that hooking up in 1st is pretty much impossible but was wondering if either of these would be worth a damn in 2nd and 3rd. Any first hand knowledge would be appreciated. I know the Nitto D/R's hook up pretty good once heated up but I really don't want them for everyday tires. I'm more interested in comparing the 285's in the brands I've mentioned.

RE: tires and traction
ET streets for the strip is a very good plan. As for street shoes with your mods that is a good question. I think you are pretty much screwed for 1st gear, the 555's should be ok for 2nd and 3rd. Keep us posted on what you come up with and how it works out. I will say this ET streets are a bad idea for the street when there is any wetness to the driving surface. I say that as I got caught in a light rain with mine and really had a time of it getting home, very very slick even with TCS on.

RE: tires and traction
I'm definetly going to be getting some ET streets for the track, but was wondering if anyone had any personal experience with the 285's in the BFG KDW2's or Nitto's 555R's. with a S/C car. I just need something that makes me feel more comfortable when mashing it in 2nd and 3rd. I know warmer weather will help. It's a nice problem to have, when my car was N/A it was hooking like crazy with the 255's and the suspension work. 309 h.p. + 141 h.p. = some holy sh-t moments.
