Shock/damper noise ?
Ok here is the deal, I finally get all the exhaust rattles fixed, and my new tune from Bamachips everything is great, then I change my street tires to drag radials to head to the track, for whatever reason i decide to jack using the stock jackpoints on the frame, usually I jack up the rear end via the axle to change the rear tires, something I have done 20 times or so, anyways I swap the tires and put the car back on the ground, impact wrench/torque wrench done. I pull out of my driveway which has a little drop off going onto the street and I hear this loud groan coming from the rear end, I already had the rear end TSB issue resolved so I know it is not that, this was alot louder and definately sounds like rubbing.
So I get under the car and have my buddy push done on the rear of the car to articulate the suspension and I can't really see what is making the noise but I do notice it corresponds to the damper/shock assembly going up and down, I reach up and grab it and sure enough thats where the noise is coming from, again the car rides normal but any bumps and I hear the groaning, different stages of groan but annoying as hell !!!!
Anyone ever had this issue? The only thing I can think of is using the the alternate jackpoint caused the hanging tire to pull the damper assembly out of alignment enough to cause a rubbing when articulated? Or I have somehow screwed up by shocks by launching too hard ? I am a real novice at suspension stuff and wish I could find a local shop that knew how to set-up everything correctly !!!
help please !!! lol
