Hello, the hp series is a good shock. The d specs are a much better choice if you don't mind paying the extra.

It'd be better to know what you are trying to get from them. TheHPs's or "blues"are ok shocks. I'd not recommend them for lowering springs. Honestly, for my tastes they are about what stock should have been. They tend to ride a bit better, but still don't control the mass of the car as well as they could in the long run.

For the cost of D-specs (I sell 'em for $539 a set) I think they are the better choice if you are looking for anything much beyond some competent stock replacements for worn out OEM's.

Again, I'm not sure what you are trying to get to, or what parts are on the car (or will be going on the car). Those things matter as dampers (shocks/struts) are the biggest, most important single part of a well rounded suspension and a car that drives well.

$539 for a set of 4 D-Specs isn't a big cost for some very good dampers. They'll be there a long time, and better shocks often save folks from spending a lot more money on other things they end up "needing" to try and cover a lack of good shock control.
