I use 4 Jack stands as my snow tires. Sorry I had to.

2-3" isn't deep but our Stangs don't handle much more too well. As far as the roads being plowed, I've been around a long time to know that you'll be somewhere besides home when the snow begins piling up and you won't want to wait for the plows.

If you must, then by all means good tires, extra weight in the rear and most of all, patience and a really, really light foot. Look into airing down to about 22-26 psi when the snow piles up. Then all you have to worry about are the other hundred idiots within eye-shot that have no frickin' idea...

Trust me, I know what it's like. I owned a 95 Camaro Z28 and a 2000 Mustang GT and was forced to drive in the snow numerous times. I always made it home but good God it was nerve wracking. I just thought slapping on some winter tires would add a bit more stability and confidence.

try 20+ inches of alaskan winter in a 93 mazda rx-7 twin turbo..what? I was 21,dumb and thought I was invincible.

the ironic thing is that I survived the winter..wrecked it during the summer lol.

Pretty sure I'll be fine in the GT.

(-:

Ditto about keeping an eye out about other drivers though...just because you are alert and safe doesn't always gaurentee that others are also...

I believe 225/55 is what my Blizzacks are on my stock 17" rims. They fit fine, however the load rating was slightly lower than stock so I also ran a couple extra psi in them. I've driven them through 5-6" of fresh unplowed snow in the Mustang; it's a tank.
