I agree. I'm planning to start doing NASA Time Trials this year and replacing the stock panhard bar costs two points and I don't think it is worth it.

Very interesting that they 'penalize' you 2 points for changing the PHB. From my knowlledge the 2 main benfits from changing the PHB are;
1) an adj PHB allows you to set the axle perfectly in the center of the car
2) the bushings can be changed and thus it could have two rod ends (heim joints)

It would be interesting to know how much of the 2 points they 'assign' to each of these.

Here are the two rules:

18) Replace or modify an OEM panhard rod or Watt’s link +2

25) Metallic replacement suspension bushings (Heim joints/spherical joints) +3 (except for
pillow ball camber plate joints, sway bar end links already assessed points in 6) above, and
upper contol arm spindle/knuckle joints already assessed points in 7) above)
I thought that the 2 points would also get you spherical joints like the sway bars - nope.

Interesting that they think it is that important. Thanks for providing the details from the rules.

lowered 2 inch has to be out more than just 1/4 inch. The physics say so!

Wouldn't that have more to do with Geometry than Physics? Either way, it has to be more than 1/4" off.

The PHB is 40 inches or so in length. Are you trying to tell me that on your car the PHB chassis end is 4.5" higher than the axle end? Is the car up on a chassis lift with the axle at full droop?
