Steering following grooves in the road
#11
Yes, had the car align the day after I installed the Eibach springs and D-Specs. I wasnt a big fan of the camber bolts I had to put in when I lowered it and since the car has all the sudden started following the road I'm thinking one of'em has come loose.
And for you guys that claim I'm running around on mis-inflated, un rotated tires....I'm offended! I keep my stuff top notch.
Inspection is due next month so if I dont scrub the tires off by then I'll have it checked.

If you've had a camber bolt lose its setting, you may be able to check this yourself by measuring both front wheel cambers. If it's much different side to side there's a good chance that's what happened. Measuring camber isn't as hard as you might think, as long as you have a level place to set up on.

Yeah, my BFG's do that also. It has to do with the profile of the tire.
The BFG's are more square. Where the stock tires are more rounded.
I love my BFG's though...........nice and wide.

If the camber has changed, you can bet that the toe
has changed also causing wandering. Toe is adjusted
after camber is and toe adjustment is via the steering
rack tie rods. One of these could have come loose if
the jamb nut was not fully tightened. But back to the
subject of getting your front end back into alignment.
If its a loose camber adj bolt, it has effected the camber
AND toe. If you bring the toe back into alignment with
the loose camber bolt and the tie rod ends have not come
loose, then the camber will follow and go back to where it
was without the need to measure it.
Measuring toe is not as hard as measuring camber.

Absolutely.
Dunno. If you've got a level place to set up on, it can't get any easier than holding a HF digital angle finder up against the wheel flanges, centering the bubble, and just reading the number. For "quick 'n' dirty, you don't even need the attached length of angle.
