My point here is you are on the internet. You are soliciting opinions from all kinds of folks and frankly you don't know their background, and you're trying to decide what to do based on a bunch of folks you don't know.

I think I've made it quite clear why I prefer Koni's. There are others here that have also switched and are glad they did (they just don't post, and I don't know why because I've gotten more than one positive note about the change from D-specs to Koni).... Aside from my findings.

If you are looking to pick parts based on a blind poll, then I can't tell you anything more that can help. I think it's a bit silly to rely on unknowns when you have known commodities that have run both (most haven't, so how can they compare?).

Two very different cars, aside from the shocks. Different setups, springs bars, etc.

Wouldn't have helped here.

Hey sam. I'd asked your opinion on Koni's before, but just wanted to check all my bases and learn as much about the choice as possible before pulling the trigger. Last time even you said:

I just wanted to make sure that I wasn't being sold something, a little consumer input over a supplier. (Yes I know you run them in your car as well, I was just taking your own advice. ) Having said all that I've decided to go ahead and get the Koni's and Sam your price is the best I've found. Thanks again for the (repeated) input.

Can't blame you on that. I was more looking at the line that stated you hadn't seen any good reason to run one over another, and I don't think that was accurate....

Here's a difference with me, and something I pride myself on. My name is on the door. I deal with customers directly (no army of commissioned sale people or someone just collecting a pay check), and feel it's in my best interest to make sure the customer isn't going to come back wanting to bust me over the head. I'd have to deal with that too.

Add to that my background, and my understanding of this car and suspensions in general and I'm not your typical sales guy (at least most don't think so). Yes, I sell parts, but satisfied customers come back. Those that feel like they got a bill of goods don't. I'd rather have a long run person than a one time shot.

Thanks Sam. Didn't mean to imply you were like some of the shadier vendors out there, more just that I wanted to make sure I did my homework before purchasing. Anyways, I just ordered from your site, so hopefully in a couple weeks i'll be able to see if the koni's really are all they're cracked up to be.

If you are really serious about this send me a PM. I'm very plugged into the local track scene, I've driven most of the tracks in the area and am familiar with just about all the organizations who host HPDEs, Open Track days, etc. Be aware that it is very addicting and expensive - fees are in the $200/day and up range, and that doesn't include consumables: tires, fluids, pads. You really should try it at least once, its amazing how much you can learn about how to drive your car at the limit when you have an instructor in the right seat and a high speed, safe environment (no oncoming traffic, no police, no cross streets, etc) in which to drive.

fwiw, if you are around DC a lot, you might want to come play with Autocrossers Inc. I belong to AI, we have events at both FedEx Field and Blue Crabs Stadium in Waldorf. In fact our first event in on March 22nd (and I'll be there). We have a lot of pony cars. 3 Shelby GT's, a Bullitt shows up a good bit, and a 3 or 4 top-flight prepped Camaro's.

We take walk-ups @ Blue Crabs Stadium, but cannot @ FedEx Field. If you pre-register it's cheaper anyway. Check us out: http://www.autocrossersinc.org/

Thanks for the heads up Sam. Unfortunately my spring break ends that day so I won't be able to make that. Hopefully over the summer I'll have more free time Thanks again.
