D-specs v. Konis (again)
#81
There are lot more decent choices for springs. Really depends what you want for height and how you use the car. If you aren't hell bent on lowering it I'd advise maybe just trying the Koni's first (which btw are cheaper for a Fox or SN95 than they are for the S197--and they are also on sale).... Real "shocks" (generically using the term for shocks and struts) make a HUGE difference in how the car rides, handles and feels. Many who thought they had to have springs before find out they don't necessarily...
Horses for courses. Damping is not spring rate, and vice-versa. Most complaints are damping issue before a lack of spring rate or ride height issue.
And as word on great deals. I'm not Ebay. I have a real store front, I don't work from kitchen, I have phone bills to pay (most of which comes from talking customers through options and setups). And it's not free for me to go racing which helps me learn the stuff I know that I then pass on to my customers.
I sell Koni (and most other parts) at a very fair price. And when you add in the knowledge I have with these cars, and with the parts and how I can help set you up, and inform how the damping works, etc. I think any price difference is made up for my customer service. Of course that's MHO, and I'm not trying to be Wal-Mart.
