Default anti-squat?

Some places - http://www.s197performance.com/CHE-P...ets-_p_15.html

..refer to LCA relocation brackets as anti-squat brackets. I had other ideas about these - like eliminating wheel hop.

Regardless, I don't like how much my car squats from 1st to 2nd or from 2nd to 3rd. These things really prevent the car from squatting?

I don't know about anti-squat. For that I would get a set of adjustable shocks and set them to firm in the rear and soft on the front. That way the weight transfer is to the rear.

This article is a pretty good discussion of how LCA Relocation Brackets work http://www.cherod.com/mustang/HowTo/LCA%20_adj.htm

For a detailed discussion of Anti Squat you will need a reply from Norm unless you can find his previous postings by searching this Forum.

Yes, although whether they completely eliminate the squatting or only partially do so depends on how far you relocate the LCA pivots away from the OE position. It's even possible to make the rear rise (though this isn't the best way to go and is definitely not advisable for a daily driver).

"Anti-squat" is a rear suspension geometry thing that causes the rear tires to be planted more rapidly than weight transfer through the springs and shocks can make the same thing happen. These "relocation brackets" change the rear suspension geometry in a way that increases the anti-squat, so you get a bigger chunk of the more immediate part of "planting the rear tires". This may help eliminate wheel hop, although wheel hop is also related to control arm bushings.

about shocks - firm in the rear helps prevent squat, and soft up front lets the nose rise a little more freely (at least until the front suspensions top out and/or you've pulled one or both front tires). Better than doing nothing and still good for fine tuning, but not as effective as getting the geometry closer to right with anti-squat/relo brackets.
