Default Steeda panhard brace?

I need an adjustible panhard. Looking at Steeda.

They also sell a panhard brace. Is this any good and/or needed? I'm not a auto-x'er. Just a DD trying to correct what goes wrong after the car is lowered. Car needs an adj panhard bad right now. Way off center.

Granted I'm new to all of this so no disrespect intended but did you mean a panhard bar? Like this? J&M Mustang Adjustable Panhard Rod

If so I was told the cheaper ones do the exact same as the more expensive ones in helping to center the alignment after a drop. I think J&Ms are like $50 cheaper than Steeda if that makes any difference.

But I'm no expert and definitely interested in what they have to say.

IMO the panhard brace is not necessary for your application.

All you need is the PHB itself.

F Stock autocrossers are required to keep the OE PHB and its brace, so the OE brace will be more than adequate.

Steeda is a PITA to adjust. BMR's is alot easier to adjust on the car.

Yes, because BMR sacrificed good design for ease of adjustability. The BMR bars have been known to break at the adjustment point.

If both locknuts are secure, I don't see how the bar can just break in half. It's an extremely well constructed piece.

Can you provide any substantiation for your statement? There are many BMR panhard bars in-use by the Mustang/GT500 community and I have never read of any breaking.

IMO the brace is not needed but I installed the BMR brace anyways ... definitely much beefier than the OEM stamped steel piece. Plus it's a bit easier to install with the panhard bar out of the way.

shanec,

IMO Steeda's Panhard bar design is one of the best because they are stronger and lighter. Steeda uses 4130 steel tubes for their PB not cheaper, weaker, heavier, mild steel DOM tubes. Steeda's design does not compromise stiffness by sticking an adjuster in the middle of the bar. Adjustment is not hard to do on the Steeda PB and you only adjust it once. Remember, for suspension parts just as with wheels lighter weight is better for performance and ride. Steeda Panhard bars are stiff and you can easily feel the improvement when you install their bar and brace. If you don't change both the difference is not as noticeable but still a significant improvement over stock. The people who claim they can't feel the difference a good Panhard bar and brace makes don't drive fast enough, don't have tires good enough to tell the difference, can't drive or all of the above.

Cheers/Chip
