While it is a bit of change to upgrade the brakes for purely cosmetic reasons, I can tell you that upgrading to the GT-500 brakes is a transformational change. I would also strongly suggest that you upgrade the chassis if you haven't for a complete package (I get the feeling that the new brakes would just about put the car on its noise if everything else were stock). You will also need to change the wheels to clear the new calipers.
