Default Why does my steering pull left?

My steering wheel pulls to the left, sometimes a little, sometimes a lot. It's barely noticeable while cruising, but often very strong when braking to a stop. Any ideas why?

Do you have wide tires up front?

A few factors to consider:
  • tire pressure
  • alignment
  • road surface (truck ruts will sometimes cause a gentle pull and other times darn near cause you to abruptly change lanes)
  • shifted belt/tire defect

I would add a sticking brake caliper to that list. If you find one wheel has noticeably more brake dust then the others then that caliper could be your problem.

My car never pulled at all..with my big 18x9 up front/18x10 rears...BUT since i put my 17x4.5 up front/15x10 with DR's out back..it pulls to left a little. I'm going to get it re-aligned.
