Camber Kit
To a point, yes.
For braking, yes.
For forward acceleration - only for drive wheels. For non-driving wheels, there may or may not be a little more rolling drag, but even if there was I doubt you'd reliably be able to notice it. Dragstrip clocks might be able to pick it out for you in back to back running, if your driving is that consistent.
I think people were focussing more on your actual need for camber correction and trying to steer you away from the bolts that (too) many people seem to just slap on and call good. One fear was that if you do end up needing camber correction you might be inclined to go with the bolts specifically because they aren't anywhere near the brace and couldn't possibly interfere with it.
I guess GT5 is good for at least that much - introducing people to some of the concepts. Beyond that, I can't say much because I can't keep the "cars" on the "road" in any of the driving sims for more than a few seconds at a time.

but sacrifices grip in straight acceleration - Is that right?

GT5 is probably not the best way of learning that kind of stuff, but some serious simulators like iracing can teach you something. I've played around with camber settings within +/- 0.5 range on the iracing's FR500s and noticed the difference in cornering grip and change in temp variations across the tires' width. I know it's not the real life but the trends should be the same.
Thanks Norm, I'm thinking I won't bother with the camber, probably just make sure the toe angle is good after lowering and then call it done.
Chrumck, GT5 wasn't really intended as a source of learning. I love the GT games for killing some time. I've never been a suspension guy, I don't know much about it other than what I've picked up from the GT games. I'm trying to learn the "truth" now as I go, but for the basics, I've found GT to be simplified but sound.
