I have D-Specs and the Ford K spring 1.5" drop and it works well for me.

Great, just looking for a slight drop with decent shocks and struts. Though about the CDC kit they have on special but they jacked the price up so might as well get the adjustables.

The HP1 kit I do which has Koni STR.T and Steeda Sports is $573.00... Seems to be what you are after, a kit that works well (better than the CDC stuff) with quality dampers and springs. We have a lot of folks here running it, and it'll save you a tangible amount of money and if you don't want or need adjustables why bother? I sell D-specs too, but the STR.T's are great street dampers and are very well matched to the particular Steeda Sports I use.

I'm thinking I might just get the roush rear springs as my front is already lower with the added weight of the SC and Chicago roads around here are horrbile, so I'd still get the shocks and struts but keep the stock front springs and go with roush rears, good idea?

Also if I did go with the 1" drop would I need new strut plates?

Got the Ford FRP Handling Pack. I recently just replaced those Ford shocks and struts that came with the kit with the Tokico D-spec shocks. What an improvement in ride quality and handling. The D-Specs have a wide range of adjustments from soft to full hard. It works great for me. Way better than the single setting, hard as a rock, FRP3 shocks.

Yes, lowered cars do not launch as well. This is due to the stiffer springs not allowing as much weight transfer to the rear. Also the stiffer rear springs don't absorb as much of the initial shock during the launch, instead transfering most of it right to the tire, breaking traction easier.
