Baer Pro Plus 14 6P Brakes - Rubbing Noise
Just had a big brake kit installed in my 2010 GT from Baer. The installer cautioned me that I will hear a rubbing sound coming from the parking brake assembly (which he had to install by removing the rear axle). The rubbing sound is of course unnerving and I am wondering if anyone else had an experience like this.
The sound is like a "Tsst-tsst-tsst" noise coming from the right side. It is inaudible at first but gets louder as I drive, and then remains at a steady state. The noise does not change at all if I apply the brakes or pull up on the parking brake handle, aside from slowing down to "Tsst-tsssst-tssssssst" because I'm stopping. If I steer left at speed, the noise increases slightly.
I see no marks or undue wear on the rotors. Everything fit great. Just wanted to get some opinions on this. Thanks.

Did he say what would be the cause of the rubbing noise? I had a similar noise once when installing front brake lines incorrectly and it turned out to be the axle rubbing against the line, thus causing my brakes to fail. (The good news is that I tested it on an empty street.)
Is the parking brake line still routed through the LCA on your new setup?

He said it was caused by the parking brake assembly. The part looks like what's dangling off the axle below (picture credit from www.chevyhiperformance.com). Apologies for the Chevy picture, lol. Anyhow, he said the padding was thick enough to be rubbing and felt that with time, it would wear down.
Also, I no longer use the stock LCAs. I have tubular adjustable units now.
