Default Caliper Holder Problems

This will be the third caliper holder on my right front brake that has bent the sliding rods. This causes the caliper to frozen in one position and the outer brake pad does not wear, only the pad with the piston side wears. There is also a large squeak when applying the brakes. Is this a common problem with a known fix? I would think I am doing something consistently wrong on installation, but I don't know what it is.

Its definitely not a common problem. Not sure what you mean by "Caliper holder". Any chance you can post some pics to better show what you are talking about? Are the pins that slide back and forth well greased?

I would replace your caliper.

It could be more than the caliper holder, I call it a bracket or chassis but I do not knw the correct name.

The problem could be the caliper is shot, the pistons were heat damaged, common from wearing down the pads to the metal plates and metal on metal scraping.

Or the support on the inside side of the rotor could be bent sock that the carrier, chassis, bracket or whatever the he'll it is called is cocked such that only one pad plate hits the rotor while the other does not.
