tire experience - traction

I realize that this article is a few years old, but given that you're shopping for affordable but sticky tires and most of the tires in this article are still popular, you might find it useful:

I just read a few reviews that say the BFG Comp 2's are about a half inch wider than most tires of the same size rating, so that may give me what I need. The tread life rating is even a little higher and they are less $ than my current BFGs... ;-)

What a great article, pretty surprising and clear about priorities.
R&T had another great article a few years back on cold weather dry and wet winter performance, with the focus on tires which had the best performance in winter/ cold weather grip on dry or wet roads but not snow or ice. In other words for most of us who only take their baby out for fun on nice road condition days in the winter.

Enjoy, Erik
