Default Rear Shocks

What's the differences in Convertible or Coupe, An 17' or 18' wheels? I have a 07 Vert v6 Pony. I look on ford parts list they have different shocks listed, 7R3Z-18125K is listed for Base, GT, Convertible. NTO has GT shocks listed part 6R3Z-18127-BA, which shows on ford list for GT Coupe, or Base Coupe with 18" wheels. Is it the length, dampening, or what? Auto parts stores do not list anything different between Coupe or Convertible. Will these work for me?

Welcome to the forum. as far as aftermarket shocks go, any for the GT or Base coupe should work fine for a Vert DD. the side wall of the tire has a small amount of cushioning and adds to the dampening of the shock. there is a weight difference between the coupe and the vert but not enough to effect which shocks you get. most of the beating of the road is controlled by the springs, the shocks are there to keep things smooth. just my $.02. good luck

I have a convertible and I just use whatever is available for GT. I bought Bilsteins and really, really like them. By the way I had Tokico before but one started to leak after about 120k miles so I ordered the Bilsteins from TireRack, took me about 45 minutes to swap the rear ones. A piece of cake! :-)

I have an '06 GT 'Vert. When I replaced mine I went with Koni STR.T rear shocks & front struts. I also put GT500 strut mount plates in at the same time. Never had any issues with any of it. Car handles great.
