It has the 170mph speedo, original rims, The little saleen sticker on the dash, all the plates look original. Has the slaeen door panels, seats, stearing wheel, the whole 9 yards. I kinda have been meeting him late at night cause he works days and the car is garage stored so no plate. But i will get you guys the pics as soon as i can.

*edit* So the car dose match the book than? cause you said 89 was p40 and my vin says p41?
Car had two owners listed in the registry.

As Mike Stated, the 1st was in HI (William H.) and the 2nd was in NV (Chris M.).

The Saleen records & registry are not bulletproof, number 89-0054 is listed with a P40 chassis code.

89-0054 is also listed as a side stripe & steering wheel delete car. Since the car was so early for 1989, the new Momo cruise adapter probably wasn't ready.

Referencing the old Redeker book:
For 1989
- 114 Blue
- 93 Grey interior Hatchbacks
- 1 Grey interior Coupe

Special order colors:
For 1989
- 1 Medium Blue Hatch w/ Grey
- 1 Medium Blue Coupe w/ Grey
- 1 Bright Blue Coupe w/ Grey

After talking to platypusofdeath and seeing the pictures of the car 89-0054, it appears to be the real deal, everything on the car is checking out for him. The car was made 09-1988 and was shipped to a dealer and used for a demo/promo car for almost a year before the original owner bought it in 1990. And he had it for almost 19 years...more to the story and very interesting Ill let him fill us in if he wishes...

I also encouraged him to call Saleen and try for verification, but it looks like some white out might be in order for the Saleen Book on this one. From what I've seen the records during the 80's had alot of errors.

Talking Thanks....

Hello again everybody. Its been a while since I first posted, but I posted in this thread with some information about a Saleen that I was considering purchasing, if I was able to get some more information about it and some help from you guys. So I posted here, and a coulpe of you verified for me that it was a Real Supercharged Saleen like I thought it was. With that, I purchased the vehicle from PA, and took the trip down to see the car and pick it up. So, From a New, and Extremly Happy Saleen Owner, Thanks for All of Your Help.

Here is the car....
2003 Saleen S281 S/C Speedster #261

I sold the Black 1998 Cobra, that is also pictured, to a friend of mine after I picked up the Saleen. Again, thanks for the info and the help everyone.

It's real. 2000-0027, last 3 of VIN match 744. Book has a ship date of 10-14-99. Options include: Supercharger, Mats, and Chrome Wheel Upgrade. 1 previous owner from Georgia (per the book). Congrats on the purchase and make sure to post some pics when you get a chance.

P.S. - Thanks for your service!!!

Default White 89 Hatch #218

Hey guys,

I found this beaten and bruised white 89 hatch on craigslist with an ebay link. Guy says its #218 with the VIN ending in 765. The front end sure looks like it hit something...

Brad's Saleen Registry confirms the info you provided. Team Saleen would be you best bet though. Photos of this car made the rounds about 4 weeks ago. The seats were green. Seems the interior was growing mold.
