RE: PJ Saleen video
Repost from a few weeks back, but still a cool vid!
What hasn't been discussed yet are the numbers from the March issue of Motor Trend.
Neil Chirico, motor trend's hotfoot, did a hotlap at Streets of Willow in 1:03:191 - beating their earlier test of the GT500 by 2 Seconds.
He also noted that in its current suspension setup, the PJ has a loose rear setup for a "truly experienced driver" That being said, its a fun car to drive with plenty of power and good balance and grip.
By the way, the Saleen PJ beat the actual Trans-Am race prepped Boss 302 by 0.44 seconds, a car that is 3100 lbs and has 480 HP.
Modern Muscle Rocks!

Oh and while I'm in the chit chat'n mood...
I like the SVT GT 500. I do. I think it'd be a great bargin at window sticker if you could get one. But around here you can't, $20k mark up... At $65k the car is a huge dissappointment to me. And unless you got the first one. It's not a collector piece. 10-13,000 a year!
This PJ car is amazing. It's nice to read all the publications lately that are truly showing that its not all about HP. People get so caught up with the HP # it's a shame.

^ +2 on that.....most recent review I read, the driver mentioned that for all intents and purposes....it drove like a 400 hp car since it doesn't make the claimed power untilaround 6000 RPM's.

RE: PJ Saleen video
I met a buddy of mine for lunch on the weekend and took the Parnelli, he showed up in his new Porsche S4 and we were joined by a buddy of his in a new Corvette. The crowed around the PJ was unreal, 15 to 20 people in a matter of minutes. 1 guy looked at the Porsche and 2 guys looked at the Corvette ! The Motor Trend article tells it all. I would love to get on the track with those guys and a GT500.
