BUT way to spendy for me yet. Will probably wait a few years until the Roush, Saleen, Steeda models that are based on the 5.0 are available used. My black stock -06GT will do for now. OR maybe I should immediately buy a used tricked out Roush, Saleen, Steeda based on the 05-09 models.... AAAAHH too many choices!!!
I'd wait a few years, buy an '11 GT500, mod the sh*t out of it and call it a day.

Just out of personal experience I would avoid anything that is the first year of a major change (like the new 5.0). They almost always tend to be the ones with the most problems.

stock 5.0 is fantastic handling car and the 5.0 lends itself to a killer mod motor due to amazing heads that love to rev

older gt500s had cast iron blocks 2010 they moved to alum block
they are based on ford lightning motors the ford gt motor is very different then the gt500 motor if i remember correctly

if you want a drag car get a low mile gt500 throw lots more fuel and boost and get some good wide tires and work on driver mod

I agree with everyone saying to wait a year on the 5.0 and 11 gt500. I am pretty sure the 2012s will be more refined.
