Oh wow, thanks for breaking that down for me. I think I get it now. lol. I will look into other cams and see which one is the closest to what we're looking for.

That does explain why the ford alphabet cams are cheaper than the TF.

Thanks again for all of your help.

Figure out what you want the car to do, the rpm range it's going to operate in, and then pick a good quality cam that matches that rpm range. That's the easiest/safest way.

cam is only maybe 10hp

be better to spend money elsewhere, good exhaust, and then intake

the xe270hr cam will work great with the stock sd but you have to play with the map work a bit . the xe264hr will slide in and work with no modifactions

what do u do to the map?

i been rockin sd for looong time. never heard such a thing???

ive prolly done as much as u can do w/sd, no b.s., cam, blower, heads, intake, spray. ive had t-5's, tremecs, c4's, aods. ive had maf cars, carb cars, sd cars. havent done turbo yet, wanted too, but kinda lazy and less time as i grow older

i used to be kind of sd guru on corral yrs ago.ive been rockin fox stangs since 92. ase certified electrical and driveability to boot

researched a little; people put fule filter in vac line to map thinking they are gonna "mask pulses". first of all there are no pulses from cam in vacuum signal; if you hook up vacuum gauge and the needle is bouncing, you havr the rockers adjusted to tight. the original idea here is a capacitor per say like a cannister like used for power brakes when cam is gigantic; that wont work here

what u do is use iac spacer plate and/or drill slightly larger hole in tb blade and adjust w/idle screw. i can tell u from experience if you delete the pcv valve and run 2 breathers instead(required unless u run a vacuum pump then you dont use any breathers) then itll have a stronger vacuum signal which helps out

in all honesty all your gonna get is 10hp and a cool idle; beween gas mpg and driveabilty woes you are better off spending the money elsewhere. you can makegood power w/stock cam, i went 12.7@108 w/E303 it only went 12.6@109 na. it drank more gas and bucked a bit between 18-2500. its due to rich condition. the stock cam felt alot stronger and made more torque on bottem end, thats what you feel on the street. if i remeber correctly there was no change in 1/8mile or (0-60(85))
