ive heard of manual 99+ v6s keeping up with the automatic rx-8. they only have like 58 lbs of torque (or was it 158) for sum reason, the rx-7s were a lelluva lot faster than the current ones

That strage occurance is thanks to twin turbo. 255hp 217ft/lbs. 0-60 5.3sec 1/4 mile 14.0sec

U guys have the #'s all wrong. The 2004 Mazda R-X8

Auto Manual
HP 197 238
TQ164 159

Motor trend got the Manual to a decent 14.5 in the 1/4

Unless she would have bought an SRT-6 Crossfire, then the 350Z. The new Rotary engines in the RX8s are LAME, but can be made SO powerful Especially in the 6000+ ranges. Not really drag cars, but lightly modded RX8s are killers from a roll.

The RX-8's aren't power houses, but they sure are perty. Too bad Mazda didn't cowboy-up to some bigger meat under the hood.

My friend got a non S/C Crossfire (not the RT-6) last summer and put Borla on it with K&N filters and a chip. That thing is damn quick for a V6 and probably could have pulled on my GT...had he not put 2 subs in his trunk lol... he says it weighs him down haha. But those things are sweet, and they sound good for a V6, even without the Borla.
