Pretty much. I know most average to below average drivers will run a GT-S around 15.2 or so. But get someone who can drive and land each shift point, they are capable of running 14's stock. A 94-98 GT would be a good race, but anything newer than a 99, the GT-S would be beat. I was just arguing for the fact that some said their v6 Stang could beat a Celica GT-S.

i always thought the gts celica was capable of 14's/ they have less hp then a v6 stang, but then again, look at their weight. its like 2500 or some ridiculous low number. i wsh ford made the 6's that low in weight so wed be going that quick, but noooooooooo.....

They are capable of 14's stock. And your right about Ford, they didnt produce a worthy v8 until 99 and a worthy v6 until 05, but then again you have other v6's in 350Z's, Supras, and others that can beat v8 Stangs, seems to me that Ford screwed up somewhere.

i think that ford is ten years behind japanese competitors, even american ones. they have yet to make a mustang GT that can beat a 98 camaro z28. its sad that stock for stock, the 98 z28 would beat a 2006 mustang GT[:@]

Maybe they meant GT or the older GTS
