That would be very very rare. I was browsing a celica forum a while back and there was a war going on between the GT-S and the Saturn Ion Redline (kinda makes ya chuckle doesnt it). Phrases like "the new redlines are actually very fast and are capable of low 15s. They would be a good match for any GTS" and visa versa. None of the GT-S drivers made a claim of 14s unless good and modded.

I highly doubt that, unless it was an auto. The 6 spds are capable of hitting high 14's in the 1/4. Which is way capable of beating a non-pi auto GT. I have one and they thing would easily beat a sixer, unless the sixer was highly modified.

I dont know what Celica forum you were on, but the one I get one theres alot of guys who have ran high 14's in the 1/4 stock. And the Saturn Ion Redlines are supposed to be mid 14's just like the Cobalt SS S/C. Theres a few modded Celica GT-S' with 6spd that run low 14's and theres been a few in the 13's N/A. You gotta figure man, 180hp out of a 1.8L and it only weighs 2500lbs. Believe what you want, but if you wanna bring your low 15 second 1/4 auto non-pi GT and race my Celica, you will be beaten.

its got 180 hp, but thats at 7600 rpm. thats where the hp peaks, because the thing only has 133 ft lbs of torque. if it weighed any more than that a riding lawnmower could beat the thing

I happen to own an 01GT with an auto and a 2000 Celica GTS with 6spd and SRI, and then Stang only beats the Celica by about 2 to 3 cars up till about 80. I aint on here to brag about the Celica or Stang, just like on the Celica forum I get on, but it just dissapoints me at times that this forum can act like others and call B.S. about everything and not believe a 4 banger can beat a v8. It can happen and I've seen it happen.

its a documented 15 sec car. GT is 14s. nuff said
