Mysterious??? hmmm im a pontiac fan also and i used to own a 77 T/A ..Black ..But one thing is for sure Its still a GM the last time i checked GM made SS and Trans Am !!Well not no more ,but why would you hate LS1s? This is what you said..(Give me a Pontiac over a chevy anyday) !! Heheh i love those LS1s!I mean recall the 80s where Mustang just kick the dog snot out of Irocs and Chevys..ALL DAY AND All NIGHT LONG ? Heck they even creamed my 77 T/A. Now i would buy aNew WS6 or SS in a heartbeat but ,My GT wouldnt share the drive way with it! What im getting at i know you have a ole school T/A or formula and it sounds like a SD at that. What im getting at is why would you bash your blood line hehehe kinda crazy to me !! Dont get the message wrong not starting a fight just cerious that is all !! Cuz these days they have same dang motor and trans all the same.

He didn't say he hated the LS1, he doesn't care for Chevy's. The LS1 comes in both the Chevy and the Pontiac. Pontiac used to have their own engines that put out TONS of hp. The 305 in the 80's runs about the same time as the 5.0, 15's.....in '89 or so the turbo 6 banger in the T/A's would run 13's. Not only that but the 350 came out in the 80's also. So no, the 5.0 would not kick the dog snot out of the 80's model f-body's. Hell I think the 80's model f-body is the ugliest they ever produced, but still, it wouldn't kill it.

Yeah the reason I say I hate them is cause I have a friend with a 99 z who can run with me and on some nights beat me and he has AC cruise, leather etc... To say I hate them is like saying aw jeez that burns my ****, ya know. Its kinda a tounge in cheek thang, not a really hate them like I LOATHE honda's...

My car doesnt have 2.73 gears, and yes there is a 99 Z28 with 2.73 gears, stock internals with headers a stall (yeah it's automatic!) underdrive pulleys, short belt, and a cut out on the stock pipe after the headers, with some ET streets running a best of 11.94. Its Hugger Orange and you can come take a drive or ride in it anytime.
There is also a stock internal, stock exhaust, 99 Z28 that was built 5 days prior to the Orange one that runs 12.4 on normal radial tires. Its a Silver M6, and doesnt even have a TB on it.
BTW my old 79 POS Formula will spank a Cobra, (unless it can hook and has been modded pretty good) it only has an 11:1 455 and ran mid 11's on the motor with a best of 1.61 60ft.
