So we're not talking about the new Monte Carlos SS's with the 303hp 5.3? Anyone driven one of those yet?
Were talking about the 02-04's I believe thats the years they were made. I havent driven a new one yet and I dont know of anyone who has one, but I heard they were pretty quick.

the 4th gen (83-88) SS's were better than the last gens made

1985 Chevrolet Monte Carlo SS 7.8 15.9

2002 Chevrolet Monte Carlo SS 8.6 16.6

keep in mind monte's only come in auto's.. i used to own an 88 and it moved fast for its weight (~4000lbs)

they would have been real competitors in the 80's muslce car war if GM had put 350's in them

I know the mid 80's are faster than the newer SS' non S/C. I think the S/C ones would give the old SS' a good run. You know whats funny, is there was a guy I worked with at Walmart that owned a 98 Monte Carlo, and it was the Z34 edition or whatever is was called, and I was tellin him that my first car was gonna be a 5.0 fox body with 5spd, and he was swearin up and down that he would smoke me, it was some of the funniest **** I've ever heard.

Didnt they have the same engine as the 02-04's, just the different body style?

Even better...give them the same setup as a Grand National !!!!
