Stupid SS
The first time i have run across and SS camaro since i got my 06 mustang GT 4 weeks ago. I am coming back from my fathers shop after installing my pypes offroad h-pipe. (note: The pypes offroad h-pipe and the slp lm's is the loudest thing i have ever heard!!!!) Any ways this guy in his ss comes up beside me and just punches off into it. I of course had it on cruise control and the exhaust was pretty quite at the time. So we finally came up to a stop light he was there and he reved his engine on me. I was still sitting there at and idle, when i start to notice that the light is fixing to change so thats when i reved my engine right back at him!! I just kept revving it up, it was actually hurting my ears the light turned green and i punched it he never even hit the gas hard he just started crusing with the rest of the traffic. I think my exhaust scared the SH$% out of him!!!
But i really wanted to race him so i slowed down. He wouldnt come back up to the side of my car. [:@]

I think there are alot of ppl out there who will judge a car/truck by how loud it is. For instance, about 75% of the trucks around here are loud as s**t. It's like standard practice to drive your new truck straight from the dealership to the exhaust shop. lol. Whenever they see my car, they rev up loud or take off hard to start shaking everything......it's funny. Funny cuz I'm able to walk away from some of the bigger/louder trucks with my stock 98 mustang.
Louder doesn't mean faster, but if the SS driver didn't know much about the new GT's and had never run one......he may have figured your loud exhaust note to mean that you were not to be trifled with. So, I'd have to say to that........the new exhaust is doing its job just fine man.

If he had a manul shift I would give him the edge if he knew how to drive.

I think my loud exhaust is what stops the majority of ricers and domestics from trying to race me. Literally, nobody ever really messes with me, except maybe once or twice.
