Newer Eclipse GT in the right lane at a stoplight, me in the left lane. I had passed him and another car just like his before we got to the light. The other one was behind me.

I didn't know he wanted to race until he floored it when the light turned green. I then punched it and at the top of 1st, my front bumper was passing his front bumper. Pulled on him and at the top of 2nd I was 2 or 3 car lengths ahead, and he let off. I then slowed down after shifting to 3rd, but he stayed behind me in the other lane.

I looked up some of the specs on his car:

3.8L MIVEC V-6
260 lb-ft torque
263 HP
3,500 lbs curb weight

they look alot better than the girly teenie bopper model before it.... I would say this is a pretty decent car considering the most powerful model before it was a turboed GSX which is AWD and put a whopping 210HP/240lbs to the wheels and pulled 14.8's-low 15's in the 1/4.... keep in mind it's pulling 14.0-14.5 N/A on a FWD ****box almost every run... if they gave it a big snail and let it graduate with AWD honors I think it would definitely be beastly

 

i think the new one is ugly as crap, i actually didnt mind the last body style spyder convertable. A girl i knew had one, it didnt look too bad. O and yeah these new ones aret anything special IMO, i smoked 3 already

 

sweet... you smoked it in a musteng.... I'm not comparing it to a mustang...if I was it would be trash... out of all the other eclipses made however... this is the best, and like I said before... make it a GSX and youwould be the one getting smoked if it does low 14's N/A FWD what would it do with a decent turbo and AWD?
