IT's a BS rating that GM made up to justify the increased price. And yes I do consider the Hurst shifter to be an apperance mod, as they are junk. The exhaust was just an optional cat-back and it did nothing for real world numbers.

i thought WS6 and SS LS1's got the LS6 intake giving them 40-50 more hp at the crank

my friends was rated at 345hp over the standard 305hp

All 01 and 02 LS1's had the LS6 intake. Like I have said a thousand times on this site, the GM ratings don't mean $hit.

Let's make this clear, an LS1 is an LS1 is an LS1. I don't care what car it came in. Vette, WS6, SS, Z28, etc.....

The ONLY difference is typically suspension. The '01-'02 car have the LS6 intake, which adds a few hp, but it's nothing a BONE STOCK car will see much of a difference with. Add some LT's and catback exhaust and you'll see some extra gains.

Basically, once the exhaust/intake is swapped, all things are then equal.
