LS1 guys
How does Tq do anything for you? If Tq is king, then why do S2000's post the same 1/4 mile times and usually = or better trap speeds as 99-04 GT's do?
If you know anything about hydraulics, you know that pressure dictates how much work can be done (weight lifted etc.). Flow controls speed (how fast that weight is lifted). If you use that example for torque and HP, torque = pressure and flow = horsepower. So a higher torque engine moves a heavy car better, HP being equal.
Make sense?

I had a t-bird. The only problem i had in 130K miles was the torque converter went bad. Replaced under warranty.

I'm not quite sure how to explain this, but I'll try...

The point is, there is a GROSS difference in tq of the 2 cars, but only a small difference in hp and weight (S2000's dyno 200ish whp and weigh 2800# and the GT dynos 230whp and weighs 3300). So the hp/weight is neck/neck. The GT has 14.3# to move for every whp and the S2000 has 14# to move for every whp (we are using dry weight as driver size will be assumed =). And...predictably...the 1/4 mile times and traps are within .1 second and 1 mph.
Even though there is: 10.9# of Mustang for every # of tq to move (flywheel) and 15.9# of S2000 for every # of tq (flywheel). They seem to be VERY!!! close to = at the strip and on the street. Based on this, I belive that tq is only beneficial if the car as a HIPPO! or the gearing SUCKS! or to get you off the line, the S2000 takes a MEAN driver to launch, while the GT is a little more novice friendly.

I really hope that you are not refering to in this post. I am really not even a GM guy at heart but I know what is fast and what is not, and for the money my car was a good pick (I bought it before the 03 Cobras were out, things would be different if I waited a year
) 4Stangs, the big problem I have is that you came here as a new guy and started telling us (the mods) how to run this site, and more to the point this section should be run. We have not had much in the way of trouble here latley and I would like to keep it that way. We always had disussions of other makes in this section and like it or not we always will. Most of the members here like it this way and thats not going to change because of one or two cry baby members.

Personally, the LSx content doesn't bother me that much. The arrogance of some of the LSx posters does. Some really come off as "holier than thou" arrogant ******. Not all of them, but some. Just my opinion.

Honestly it didnt strike me that he was attacking you. More like he was attacking the GENERAL feeling he gets from LSX owners as a whole.

So ONE MORE TIME, if you don't like it here, your free to leave at anytime, just like your free to not read threads that you don't like. I'll leave you alone as soon as you stop crying anytime you see a post or thread in this section thats not about a Mustang.

Whatever, Mr moderator. Don't leave me alone then. I can handle name calling. Happens here all the time.
Is there a moderator for moderators here? [sm=lol.gif]

Dude, that's kindof weak. There are other cars besides the mustang, accept it. I am a member on S2KCA/350Ztech/LS1tech/preludepower/and now this forum. I am a member of all these forums because I like to know what the other guy is packing. Consider it an education in your opponent.
