First. The Vert is a little heavier by about 150 lbs. so you can deduct about .1 in the 1/4.Second you have to come to a complete stop to put the top up but you don't need to apply the E brake.Third I took mine to the track after mods so I couldn't give you an exact # what it should run stock. But I would guess high 13's 13.7-13.9. Tune and CAI depending on temp and elevation should bring it down to mid 13's.I added a new pulley and some 4.10 gears and can tell you first hand a stock ls1 whether in the shape of a Camero or a Vette is no competion.Usually 2 to 4 cars on them in the 1/4 depending on the driver. Tune and CAI =500.00 gears and pulley's =700.00

I didn't realize he was asking about beating a C5 'Vette. I must have missed that in his post.

You went from a 13.9 which is the norm what a S197 vert runs stock to high 12's with just CAI,tune, gears, exhaust and a pulley?

Which one do you think he meant? Come on. But my brother's buddy owns an auto C5 and it's a dog (as far as 'Vettes go). I think it was the first year of the C5's.

I never ran my car stock so I don't know what "norm" would be.I suspect it would have alot to do with the driver learning the car auto stick etc.I can only tell you first hand accounts of my expireance at the track after mods.Mine is a five speed so it took a little longer for me to adjust after the new gears.Exhaust isn't really going to change performance at all for me Mufflers only.Stock 06 has 2 1/2 in pipes so there really is no need to swap the full exhaust.Flowmasters are just for sound. After mods I had a hard time getting the car to hook and was running 13.5 consistantley with poor 60 ft times. Now I'm down to 13.1 average and have broken 13 a few times.I'm curious to see what it puts down in the cooler weather. Those times were in August.Haven't been to the track in awhile. As far as the tune goes make sure you just don't get a mail order version take it to a reputable mechanic or someone who can dyno it for you and make the proper adjstments.

C5's range anywhere from a 12.9 for a six speed coupe to 13.5 for a auto vert.........I'm not into guessing . I see it how I read it dude...........

Fair enough. The C5 is a an auto coup. It's the one on the left alongside my brother's C6.

I am going to smack him around (the C5) with my STI when I get it back from the Stage 2 work. That ought to **** him off pretty good.

02, what kind of LS1?
My numbers are in my sig. A 3.23-geared auto F-body may be a tad faster, a 3.42-geared 6-speed F-body will be decidedly faster, and a Corvette with similar gears and tranny will cornhole an auto convertible Mustang quite badly.
The '04 GTO is heavy and therefore a bit slower.
